Special Run Information for 2020

Special Run Line: How It Will Work Virtually!

Welcome to another episode of Road To Breyerfest! Today, Breyer has released the information on how the Special Runs will work and I have seen some mixed emotions about it. I am here to help explain it and talk about it a bit. I do want to say thank you to Breyer. They do not deserve some of the hate and negativity that I have seen posted on the internet lately. BreyerFest could have been canceled completely, but they have been making this amazing virtual event that I cannot wait to attend! Also, I do want to let my viewers know that yes, we are a fan based information group, but we do get the information to you as soon as it is released and we explain it as well as we can in all of our social media platforms.

So the Special Runs, how will they work? Breyer announced today that all ticket sales for BreyerFest will be capped on May 31st or when the inventory runs out, whichever comes first. This is a first for BreyerFest! With the virtual format of BreyerFest, everyone can attend now, even if there are some complaints. I feel that this will be the largest BreyerFest yet, even if we are not there at the Kentucky Horse Park. But this means that Breyer had to come up with a way to make the Special Run Lines more fair than just letting people jump online and purchase models willy nilly. Thanks to the Seattle Soiree event, they have come up with a plan that seems to work well with limited edition models and making it fair for all of those involved.

So let’s go into detail on how this will all work. Those that had participated in the Seattle event will have a little bit better understanding on how this will all work as it will be done in a similar fashion. Everyone that has purchased a three day ticket on their account will receive an email that will provide detailed instructions on how to select your model preferences. These preferences will need to be submitted no later than June 15th.. These preferences do NOT guarantee which models that you will receive, but it will be taken into account. If you have more than one Three Day Ticket and you have selected more than one Special Run Time Slot, you will have the opportunity to enter these preferences for EACH one of the time slots that you have selected. This means that if you have a ticket for Friday and one for Sunday, you will be able to set your preferences for Friday and another set of preferences for Sunday.

Now, BreyerFest weekend has arrived and you want to know just what is going on! You will need to know what time slot that you have chosen. If you have chosen Friday at 10am, then you will log into the account that purchased your Three Day ticket and see which models have been selected for you to purchase. You then have up to 24 hours to purchase these models. There is NOT an option to switch models, however if you do not like the ones that have been selected for you, you do not have to purchase them. But this is how it is going to work. You will be given two random models from the selection that you will be able to purchase. This is only for the Special Runs, not the rest of the models that will be available during that weekend. You will also receive an email that your models are available to purchase and the models can stay in your cart for up to 24 hours while you complete the rest of your shopping, they do not have to be purchased separately. Each time slot has the same amount of models, just like at the normal BreyerFest. Those that have more than one ticket are not guaranteed to be able to get one of each model. Complete instructions on how to purchase these models will be outlined on the page to purchase these models.

The Surprise Horse has not been released and will likely not be released. You many know what it is come BreyerFest, but you will not know before hand. Breyer has expressed their wishes that they want to keep this a surprise and so what, we know that they have said that they will keep this until the first model arrives at someone’s house. Please do not show hate towards Breyer towards this as it is what they wanted and we can only share what they have posted.

I hope that this has helped you to understand a bit more of what Breyer has in store for us for this awesome virtual BreyerFest and I look forward to bringing you more information about it.

Sales for 3-Day tickets will end on May 31, 2020 at 11:59 PM EDT or when inventory is sold out, whichever occurs first.
  • Ticket holders will still have the opportunity to purchase up to two (2) Special Runs; no purchase is required if you do not want the models selected for you.
  • Ticket holders in each timeslot will be placed into a random order and models will be allocated to each ticket holder based on preferences submitted via an online form, which will be distributed via email the week of June 1, 2020.  This method worked extremely well to replicate the onsite shopping experience for our Seattle Soiree Breyer Boutique.
  • Accounts that have purchased 3-Day tickets to BreyerFest will receive an email with detailed instructions on how to submit your model preferences for this year’s event. Preferences must be submitted by June 15, 2020 or preferences will be randomly assigned.
    • Submitting preferences does not guarantee which models you will receive.
  • If you have purchased multiple 3-Day tickets and have selected more than one Special Run time slot, you will have an opportunity to submit your model preferences for EACH Special Run timeslot you’ve purchased.
  • During BreyerFest weekend, models will be released to ticket holders by timeslot.
    • Example – on Friday, July 10 at 10 AM EDT, ticket holders with Friday 10 am tickets can log into their accounts to see which models have been made available for them purchase. There will not be an option to select Special Run models other than the models you’ve been assigned.
    • All accounts will also receive an email notifying them that their models are available for purchase.
    • Complete information on making these purchases will be outlined on the Special Run Models buy page that you will have access to.
    • Purchases must be completed within 24 hours.
    • Models can stay in your cart while you shop throughout the 24 hours; you do not need to check out your Special Runs separately from other items, like Store Specials, swag, or Fling! Shop models.
  • As always, each shopping time is equal in terms of availability of models.
  • Ticket holders with multiple tickets are not guaranteed to be able to purchase one of each kind of model.

Do I need to be online to shop live during my Special Run Time?  What time zone will this be in?
  • Models will be released to the ticket holder by the timeslot you selected (following Eastern Daylight time) and purchases must be completed within 24 hours of your ticket time. See “How will the Special Run Line Work this Year” for more details.

Updated FAQs for the Virtual BreyerFest

These FAQs come straight from the Breyer website and can be found at:

We are working hard to get answers to all your questions!

Ticketing Questions
Will 3-Day ticket prices go up after early bird ends?
  • Ticket prices will not be changing after the Early Bird period ends; however, the entry period for a chance to win the Early Bird Raffle model, Dyflin, concludes on April 30th.
  • 3-Day tickets will still be available for purchase after April 30, 2020, while supplies last.
Why do I need an adult ticket for an online event?
  • Until this year, BreyerFest was always an onsite event at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY. Guests needed to purchase either an Adult or Child ticket for onsite admission and access to certain events.
  • Due to the fact that tickets sales were already well underway by time we were forced to make the difficult decision to transition the event to a virtual format, we decided to maintain the Adult and Child options and include additional BONUS BENEFITS for Adults.
  • Benefits will be announced when they are confirmed, however, Adult ticket holders can look forward to a mix of free raffle tickets, coupons for savings during BreyerFest weekend, and a few other surprises!
What is included with my 3-Day ticket purchase?
  • This year’s Celebration Model, Ballynoe Castle RM (a $50 value)
  • One Special Run ticket that allows you to purchase up to 2 Special Run models
  • Exclusive access to behind-the scenes tours at the KHP
  • A special performance produced by Sylvia Zerbini and the Celebration of Horses performers
  • Access to interviews and performances with guest horses
  • Bonus content from other BreyerFest partners
  • Other benefits include:
    • Access to virtual workshop content
    • Access to virtual seminars
    • Access to the virtual Equus Film Festival
What is included with my Single-Day Ticket purchase?
  • Each Single-Day Gambler’s Choice model ticket comes with:
    • One-day access to virtual BreyerFest content, based on the day you select at the time of purchase.
    • ONE, randomly-selected Single-Day Stablemates model from this year’s line-up.
  • Guests who purchase the 4-pack of Single-Day Stablemates models will receive:
    • Access to all three days of Virtual BreyerFest content, but will not have the same access to content that 3-Day ticket holders have (unless they are also 3-Day ticketholders).
    • One of EACH of this year’s Single-Day Stablemates models, plus a commemorative BreyerFest Celtic Fling magnet.
  • Other benefits for all Single-Day ticketholders include:
    • Access to interviews and performances with guest horses
    • Access to virtual seminars
    • Access to the virtual Equus film festival
Is buying 4 Single-Day tickets the same as buying a 4-pack of tickets?
  • The purchase of the 4-Pack grants you access to all three days of BreyerFest virtual content, but is not the same access as a 3-Day ticket holder (see “What’s included?” above) AND guarantees you one of each of this year’s Single-Day Stablemates models.
  • The purchase of four individual tickets requires you to select the day of the weekend you would like to access – Friday, Saturday or Sunday – for each ticket (and can be different), but your Stablemates models will be selected randomly (you could receive multiples of a particular deco and none of another).
I ordered my tickets months ago.  When will I receive them?
  • This year’s Virtual Celtic Fling will NOT have printed tickets.
  • No tickets will be mailed or emailed out for this year’s event.
I bought a parking pass/Breyer Lounge ticket.  What will happen with these?
  • All Parking Passes and Breyer Lounge tickets will be automatically refunded.
  • If you do not see a refund for these ticket options on your account by May 8th, please contact Breyer Customer Service at 1-800-413-3348 or breyerwebstore@reevesintl.com.
Can I purchase both 3-Day and Single-Day tickets?
  • 3-Day ticket holders are welcome to purchase Single-Day tickets.
  • However, 3-Day ticket holders who purchase Single-Day tickets will not increase their access to BreyerFest virtual content.
Does everyone in my family need a ticket to participate?
  • Access to the event is based on account status on BreyerHorses.com.
  • Any account with a 3-Day ticket will have all-access to content and sales throughout the weekend.
  • However, the number of models each account can purchase and the number of times they can enter a contest will be limited by the number of tickets the account has purchased.
    • For example – if BreyerFest@reevesintl.com purchased two 3-Day tickets, that account will be able to purchase up to 4 Special Runs and will receive two Celebration Horse models. Two members from that family can submit entries in the diorama contest.
What is the deadline to exchange/roll over/keep my tickets?
  • The opportunity to refund or exchange/roll over tickets purchased prior to April 13, 2020 will expire on June 1, 2020. After that time we cannot accommodate any requests for ticket status changes. Please contact Customer Service with any questions.
I already ordered tickets for BreyerFest in Kentucky.  How do I get tickets for the virtual event?
  • You already have them! All tickets that were purchased prior to April 13, 2020 have been automatically converted into tickets for the virtual event.
  • All tickets purchased April 14, 2020 and beyond are tickets for the Virtual BreyerFest Celtic Fling.
  • Tickets for this virtual event will not be mailed.
Can I participate if I don’t have a ticket?
  • Non-ticket holders will have limited access to BreyerFest-specific content and NO access to limited edition product.
  • Only 3-Day ticket holders will have access to this year’s BreyerFest Special Run models.
  • All ticket holders will have access to this year’s BreyerFest Store Specials, Fling! Pop-up Souvenir Shop models, and exclusive BreyerFest swag, as well as some fun surprises we have planned for the BreyerFest virtual store.
Are tickets I purchased from a friend/on the secondary market valid?
  • Access to the virtual event is based on account ticket status on BreyerHorses.com.
  • The account that purchased the tickets has the access.
  • Ticket status is not transferrable to another account.

Model Horse Questions
How will the Special Run Line work this year?
  • We know you have lots of questions about this and we are still working on our plan. We will have more information soon!
When will the Surprise model be revealed?
  • We love a good surprise so we will not be revealing the Surprise Model!
How can I buy this year’s Store Specials or Fling! Pop-Up Souvenir Shop Models?
  • All Virtual Celtic Fling ticket holders (3-Day and Single-Day) will have access to purchase this year’s Store Special and Fling! Pop-Up Souvenir Shop models.
  • Purchases on these items will be limited by account based on the ticket type you have. More information on this process will be released shortly. We appreciate your patience.
  • Models will be added into inventory throughout the weekend, just like on-site BreyerFest, to allow for more opportunities for guests to purchase these items.
    • For example, if Benelli is sold out on Friday, more inventory will be added for Saturday morning, and so forth for Sunday.
Will Single-Day tickets/Stablemates be offered?
  • Of course!
  • Guests who purchase these tickets will have more limited access to the virtual BreyerFest content than a 3-Day ticket holder, but will still be able to purchase Store Special models and this year’s Fling! Pop-up Souvenir Shop models and swag.

Contests/Raffles
Will international participants be allowed to enter contests/raffles?
  • Unfortunately not. BreyerFest Raffles, contests, and auctions are limited to US residents by law.
  • International ticket holders who purchased Early Bird tickets are still eligible to receive the Early Bird Model, if they are selected.
Will there be a Live Auction/Best Customs Contest/Diorama Contest?
  • More details on each will be posted soon!

BreyerFest Experience
What will this new, virtual BreyerFest Celtic Fling experience be like?
  • BreyerFest Celtic Fling will be hosted online only – no activities are planned for or will take place at the Kentucky Horse Park.
  • The event will still take place July 10-12, 2020 on BreyerHorses.com and on Breyer social media platforms.
  • The event will be a combination of live and pre-recorded video and photo content and will include equine demonstrations, interviews with guest horse owners, artist demos, workshop tutorials, seminars, raffles, contests, access to exclusive BreyerFest models and swag, music and dance performances, an online vendor marketplace and Artisans’ Gallery, photo model horse shows, and more.
Will I need to sit in front of my computer all weekend to participate?
  • BreyerFest will be broadcasting a mix of live and pre-recorded content all BreyerFest weekend long, but a schedule of events will be released in advance, so participants can determine when to join us.
  • Content will be released on a variety of platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, BreyerHorses.com, and others.
Is the 5K still happening?
  • Yes! The BreyerFest 5K has been transitioned into a virtual race (run on your own time, at home).
  • If you’ve registered for the 5K, or would like to register, more information can be found here - https://runsignup.com/Race/KY/Lexington/BreyerFest5KRunWalk
  • Finisher medals and bibs will be mailed to all registrants – we are encouraging guests to run the race on July 12th and post their race selfies on Breyer Social media! (Kilts are encouraged!)
  • For runners participating in the event on July 12th, and who submit their times to 3Way Racing, Breyer will be awarding top prizes.
  • A portion of the proceeds from 5K registrations will be donated to Old Friends, so please consider joining us to benefit this amazing equine charity.
How can I participate in a Workshop or Seminar?
  • All 3-Day ticket holders will have access to this year’s virtual workshops at no additional charge.
    • A complete listing of workshops and necessary supplies will be released a couple of weeks before BreyerFest, allowing guests who wish to participate time to gather the needed materials.
    • All 3-Day ticket holders can access workshop content at any time during the weekend
    • Special live demos will take place throughout BreyerFest weekend with some of our instructors – a schedule for these live experiences will be released in advance of the event.
    • Workshops being offered as a part of the Virtual Celtic Fling are NOT the same workshops that were going to be offered on-site. The 2020 workshop schedule has been rolled over in its entirely to 2021.  Guests who purchased their BreyerFest workshops prior to April 13, 2020 are welcome to roll their current workshop registrations over to 2021 – an email with instructions was sent to all registrants.  The deadline for this is June 1, 2020.  After that date, any registrations that have not been rolled over will be automatically refunded.
  • All ticket holders (3-Day and Single-Day) will have access to BreyerFest virtual seminars and the Equus Film Festival films. The schedule for these offerings and how to access them will be released in advance of the event.
I’m an international guest and can’t participate in the contests or raffles.  Can I have a partial refund for my ticket?
  • Unfortunately, we are unable to offer partial ticket refunds for international guests who are legally prohibited from participating in skill-based contests or raffles.
  • The contests and raffles are fee-based/add-on items that are not included in the cost of a BreyerFest ticket. ALL BreyerFest guests will have access to all the BreyerFest ticket inclusions, which are outlined above in “What’s included with my ticket?”
Will Breyer be increasing their server capacity to accommodate the increased website traffic?
  • We are confident in our website's ability to seamlessly blend the entertainment elements of BreyerFest with your weekend shopping plans. That said, we have taken extra precautions to ensure we will have a successful weekend!

Shipping
How will I get my models and swag?
  • All guests who purchase BreyerFest tickets will have their models and swag shipped to them.
    • Domestic – FREE shipping
    • Canada - $10 flat rate shipping
    • All other International - $25 flat rate shipping
Will all my purchases be shipped together?
  • We will use the most efficient and cost-effective shipping methods possible over the course of the event. We want to make sure all your purchases and event models arrive to you safely.
  • International and Canadian customers: A shipping charge will be applied to each order that you check out. We recommend checking out as few times as possible to limit the number of times you are charged for shipping.

Other Questions
What will the theme for 2021 be?
  • As always, the theme for the next year’s BreyerFest will be revealed on the Sunday afternoon of BreyerFest weekend.
  • The dates for BreyerFest 2021 are July 16-18, with Thursday activities (Artisans’ Gallery, Swap Meet, and Breakables/Resin model horse shows) taking place on July 15, 2021.

Orkney, a Single Day Stablemate

Let's welcome Orkney, one of the Single Day Stablemates!

Orkney is an archipelago of the northern coast of Scotland and contains about 70 islands – 20 of which are inhabited.  These islands have incredible history – the village of Skara Brae is Europe’s most well-preserved Neolithic settlement and is believed to have been inhabited from around 3100 BCE.  By the Iron Age, these islands were home to a variety of Pictish tribes living comfortable agricultural lives until the arrival of Norse invaders in the 8th century.

Meet Jersey- A Single Day Stablemate

With all of the uncertainty that there is surrounding BreyerFest 2020, models are still being released.  With the move to a virtual BreyerFest, Breyer is now offering two ways to get your stablemates.  There is an option for a completely random model or a four pack that will be limited, but you will be able to purchase all four of the single day stablemate models.

The first one released is Jersey.

The Bailiwick of Jersey is located off the coast of Normandy, France, and is a self-governing Channel Island under the dependency of the British Crown – but it is NOT a part of the United Kingdom. This island’s recorded history extends back 1,000 years, but the island is home to archaeological sites (including several dolmens) that date back to the Neolithic period.  Archaeological evidence from the Roman period, including the remains of a temple, has also been found.

We hope that you like this amazing model on the Walking Thoroughbred mold.

A Virtual BreyerFest?!

BreyerFest 2020 Celtic Fling has not been canceled.  Let me repeat that, it has not been canceled.  However, all activities have been moved online due to this completely unprecedented situation with Covid 19.  So here we will let you know what all is going to happen and what you can expect.  Please know that we are still waiting on some details to be released and not all of the information has been posted yet, but as soon as it is, trust me, I will be posting about it.  The best places to find my posts that are not here would be the Facebook Group, Instagram, and of course, my Youtube Channel  Each one is under the RoadtoBreyerfest name.  So let's get into this!

First, I want to say that if you have already purchased a Three Day Ticket and you do NOT want to participate in the Virtual activities, then you have until June 1st to call Breyer Customer Service to either get a refund or to have your tickets rolled over to 2021.  However, if you do this and then decide that you want to participate anyway, ticket purchases cannot be guaranteed as Three Day Tickets can and do sell out before BreyerFest.

To be able to participate in the Virtual BreyerFest, you absolutely will need a ticket.  This ticket will NOT be mailed to you and will be linked to the account that you use to purchase things on Breyerhorses.com.  So make sure that you have an account ready to go when you are ready to purchase your tickets.  This account does not need to be a Collector Club account, a free account will work just fine, but you will not get the small discount for the Collector Club members.  Once you have your account ready, you need to decide if you want an Adult ticket or a Child ticket.  Each one has different advantages so please read on to find out which one might be best for you.

Children's Tickets will allow you to have access to purchase Special Run models, Store Special models, Celtic Fling! Pop Up Shop models, BreyerFest swag, and also have access to view certain exclusive ticket holder content only.

Adult's Tickets will allow you to purchase Special Run models, Store Special models, Pop Up Shop models, exclusive interviews with BreyerFest horse owners, videos of the horses, exclusive behind the scenes tours of the Kentucky Horse Park and other horse farms, entry into the Diorama contest, free raffles, a streamed performance from Silvia Zerbini and the Celebration of Horses Performers, and more that is being released almost daily!

The cost of the Three Day tickets will not go up after the Early Bird Time period ends this year.  It will remain at $87.50 for non Collector Club members and $85.00 for Collector Club members.  However, the Early Bird time period has been extended to April 30th for this year.  After April 30th, tickets purchased will no longer be eligible for the Early Bird Raffle Model, Dyflinn.

Please note that International and Canadian participants are not eligible to enter into the raffles or the auctions due to International Laws that Breyer cannot get around at this time. We are sorry to bring this information to you, but it is necessary to be said.

Single Day Tickets will also be available and come with one of two options: Gambler's Choice models or a limited 4 pack of all four of the Stablemate models.  Remember that each model requires one ticket.  Ticket prices are around $17 for single day tickets  Single Day tickets will have a one day access to the BreyerFest Virtual experiences and will NOT be allowed to purchase Special Run models or enter the Diorama Contest.

Currently, the information on how the Special Runs, raffles, auctions, and contests will work has not been released yet, however I will bring this information to you as soon as it is released.  Make sure that you also follow our other forms of Social Media in order to have the information before I make up these pages.

Models will be shipped to your house, including your Three Day Celebration Model and the other models that you have purchased.  Domestic shipping is free, Canadian shipping is $10 flat rate, and International shipping is $25 flat rate.  While this is also not good news for our International participants, I sadly cannot do anything about this as I just run informational fan media.

There will be more coming soon, but I wanted to make sure to get this post out there as I am working on videos and the rest to go along with this post currently!

BreyerFest 2020: What Is Going To Happen and What We Already Know

BreyerFest 2020: What Is Going To Happen and What We Already Know

On April 13, we all received an email, a post, and a video that stated that BreyerFest would be moved to a virtual event. Many complaints, compliments, and more has surfaced since then, but here at Road To BreyerFest quickly jumped into action to field questions, find answers, and more. So now we will reveal all that we know, what we do not know, and what we are waiting on answers for right now.

First, BreyerFest is NOT canceled. That is right, it is not actually canceled. However, it has been moved to a virtual event so that everyone will remain safe during this unprecedented situation and now many more people can attend that have not been able to attend in the past. What does that mean for you? You might want to purchase your ticket as quickly as possible as they can and will sell out. Right now, we know that tickets will NOT be sent and will be a virtual type ticket. We also do not know about the Children’s ticket and if that means that you will be able to purchase the models with a Children’s ticket if you do not have an Adult ticket. Adult tickets will have bonuses that the Children’s Tickets do not have. We have been asked to wait for at least 3 to 5 days before we call them with questions and my personal emails have not been answered yet. So, our best advice about the Children’s Ticket questions is to just wait a bit and we will address it when Breyer has hammered out their details a little bit more.

If you do not want to participate in a virtual BreyerFest, that is alright as well. However, you will need to contact Breyer’s Customer Service as Road To BreyerFest is a fan site as we have no way to help you there sadly. That being said, there are two options that have never been available in the past. You will be able to roll your tickets over to 2021 or you can request a full refund. Again, we would wait a few days to allow Breyer to start working on their system to set all of this up as the switch over to virtual could take a toll on their servers and phone lines since most people are working out of their home. Please be patient as I am sure that everything will be worked out. As for parking passes, these will automatically be refunded since they are not needed. Lounge tickets will be refunded as well, some have already been processed.

Three Day Ticket Early Bird Special has been extended to April 30th in order to make up a bit for what has happened and it is suggested to purchase your tickets early to take advantage of this as well as make sure that you get your tickets for purchasing models.

The Live Shows are being worked on to take a virtual aspect, however if you do not wish to participate in a virtual model horse show, they are looking to roll over your entry to 2021. Make sure that you read the email from Michelle Masters that was sent to your email account for more information as the Admin Team of Road To BreyerFest does not currently Live Show, but we have shared the email that had been posted by a member.

Breyer has announced that there will be extra events that three day ticket holders will have access to during the Virtual Event. This will include videos of the horses that were to attend, interviews with the owners of the horses, and so much more. We do not know exactly what is in the works, however we are all excited to see what Breyer has to announce. Road To BreyerFest will also have their own events to add this all of this excitement as we are trying to make this virtual experience memorable and all year long right now!

Breyer has stated that you will be receiving your Celebration Model sent to your home with your other purchased models. We do not know about the Single Day Models, but I am sure that we will be getting an update soon about that as well. As for the rest of the unknown, all details will be posted in May and rest assured that we will share that with you as soon as it is released. We also do not know exactly how the Live Auction Models and the Raffle Models will work, however Breyer has said that they will continue to happen so we will share that information as soon as it is released!

Make sure to read the files to start planning for next year, see the prices for the previous years as prices for this year have not been released yet, and join in our excitement as we wait for the rest of the models to be released!

A recap of what was posted from Breyer:

BreyerFest Ticket Update!

Many of our fans have been asking for clarification about their tickets for our virtual BreyerFest 2020 Celtic Fling event.  We will have several options available to you. If you purchased 3-Day tickets already, they will automatically convert into a virtual BreyerFest ticket with all the benefits you expect and more!
As a 3-Day ticket holder, you will still receive this year’s Celebration model, shipped to your home, be able to purchase Special Runs, have insideraccess to all BreyerFest content, and some other special benefits we are working on.  You’ll be able to take part in special raffles and contests, shop the BreyerFest pop-up store, watch equestrian performances and interviews with horse owners and artists, and so much more!
Only 3-Day ticket holders will have the opportunity to purchase Special Run models, and as usual, there are a limited number of 3-Day tickets available to purchase. Just like at BreyerFest, these Special Runs will be sold in a similar format with a random number draw and specific access time blocks.  More information to come on that!  We have a lot of details to work out.
The other options you have will include the ability to exchange your ticket for a 2021 BreyerFest ticket, and you may also request a refund. Please be aware that there will be a limited number of tickets available for the event, and if you request a refund now and choose to repurchase tickets later, availability is not guaranteed. We have also extended our Early Bird pricing through Thursday, April 30th.
We are working out all the details now, and will provide more complete information at the beginning of May.

Store Special 2020

What is the difference between a Store Special and a Special Run, you might ask.  The biggest difference is that there is no ticket required for a Store Special.  These models are available in the Breyer Store all weekend long and will sell out.  They are replaced through the weekend and if the mold is popular, they tend to go rather fast.  However these models normally have a higher run rate than the Special Run models, but still lower than most Limited Edition models.  Store specials are normally priced around the same as a Special Run.  Prices will not be released until around 2 weeks before the event.

So, today we reveal the first Store Special for 2020.  Meet Benelli, a lovely blue roan Clydesdale gelding on the new Shire mold.

Special Run 2020 Reveal

Welcome back to another reveal thanks to Breyer.  We are a bit behind, however, we are getting caught up quickly.  Remember that you can follow us on Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and here to get all of your questions answered for BreyerFest.

So that being said, let us see what the next reveal is! Let us welcome Hamish, the Irish Moiled Bull! Painted on the Angus Bull mold that was sculpted by Chris Hess, this mold has not been used in many years.  This flashy addition to the Special Run lineup is sure to please.

Tips and Tricks To Surviving BreyerFest!

Tips and Tricks To Surviving BreyerFest

Make sure that you dress for the occasion. Kentucky is hot and humid in July and has a tendency to have some storms, some of which might be severe. Make sure that you wear layers in the morning, if you are cold, and make sure to bring extra clothes and socks so that you are able to change often. Sandals are somewhat frowned upon as you can sunburn your feet and that makes for a miserable weekend, however, make sure that you have comfortable footwear.

Make sure that you bring sunscreen. BreyerFest is mostly outside and the sun can burn even if you are not feeling overly hot. Reapply as often as you need to.

Make sure that you remember to drink plenty of fluids and eat some food during the day. The heat can make you forget to drink or make you feel not hungry. Even if it is a nibble of food, it is better than nothing.

If the heat bothers you, make sure that you visit the museums as they are air conditioned. Also consider purchasing a BreyerFest Lounge ticket to get access to an air conditioned room to watch the Equine Demonstrations. There are also several fans all over the area that can help, including mist fans in many of the lines. Make sure that you know your limits in the heat and the humidity.

Make sure that you allot money for more than just models. Plan for a fund for your food, gas, hotel, and whatever you need. In advance, we have a BreyerFest Adjustable Estimate that you can use to help you guesstimate what things will cost in advance. This is located in the files and was put together just for this event.

Yes, you can store models in your vehicle and in the amount of time that you are in the Park, it will likely not warp. However, when you arrive at your hotel or wherever you will be sleeping, make sure that you take the models out of the vehicle. Lexington, Ky is not one of the safest towns and cars have been broken into and models stolen in the past. In the Park, the State Police roam the grounds and it is relatively well protected. Keep in mind that some older horses that you might purchase from collectors or the Covered Arena have a potential to bloat or warp more than the newer models.

Don’t over plan your day. Take time to enjoy BreyerFest, especially if this is your first event. Standing in too many lines will quickly sour your experience and will make this fun event seem like a chore. You have tickets to get your Celebration or Single Day models so you can get them any time over the weekend. You can also get your Celebration Model in the Special Run Line to save on a bit of time. Try to plan your Special Run Line times, if you get more than one, at different times of the weekend so that you are not standing in line back to back, unless that is what you wish to do. I like to get all of my models on one certain day of the weekend and then I have the rest of the time relax and see the horses, plastic or real.

Make sure that you drink water often. You can easily get overheated and dehydrated in the Kentucky weather. There is some amazing lemonade and last year, there was a free water station where you could fill up water bottles. Also make sure to take advantage of the snow cones.

Be sure to purchase at least one Raffle Ticket. One dollar could potentially get you a very rare model as it only takes one to win.

Check out the Clarion. Take the shuttles to the Clarion from the Horse Park. The parking at the Clarion is limited to Registered Hotel Guests only this year. You might be able to find something that you have been looking for at the Clarion that is cheaper than on the concourse at the Covered Arena.

Make sure to plan and order your favorite Special Run Models. There is a possibility that by the time that you get into the tent, the model that you wanted could be sold out for that time slot. Remember that even if it sells out during your time slot, it might not be sold out for the next one. This happens quite often, especially with the Surprise models. Just relax and make sure you make a plan in advance. If you are doing pickups, make sure that you tell your clients that this could potentially happen and have a plan for them as well.

The Times: Breyerfest is open from 9-4:30 Friday and Saturday and 9-3 on Sunday. You can line up on Thursday for the Ninja Pit as early as noon, but know that you will be watched by the police and park security. I do recommend either getting there early on Friday or waiting until later in the day to wait until the line dies down. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO GET INTO THE LINE FOR THE NINJA PIT!!!! - this is a must to read. Again, you do not have to get in line for the Ninja Pit. As you come up to the Rolex gate, the official entry to Breyerfest, you will see a line to the right as well. That line is for general admission and NOT THE STORE. Please use that line if you are NOT going into the Ninja Pit.

The Wristband: You may have noticed in your Breyerfest ticket packet, you have received a wristband instead of buttons. This is new to us as well. We have heard a rumor that buttons will be available at the event, but this is NOT something that we know just yet. We do not know the reasoning of why they moved to the wristbands, only that they are there.

Special Run Tickets: Special Run tickets have their own file and the description of how they work are in that file as well. You MUST get to the special run tent 15 minutes before your time. You need to listen to what number was called. Yes, it will be insane, but there will be people there to help you. You MUST find your own spot in line, no one can help you there. Once you are in line, you will get to go through the store in 20-30 people at a time. You can buy two horses, but they must be different. Not two surprise horses. Not two animals, two different ones. The surprise horse is a surprise until the first one is purchased and opened outside of the line.

The Auction: The Live Auction takes place AFTER Breyerfest ends. It takes place at the Hall Of Champions near the covered arena. These are One Of A Kind Pieces that will take thousands to purchase. It can be fun to watch. I enjoyed it when I went and I would again, if I did not go to to the evening show. The rules about purchasing the models will be explained on site, but it works just like a livestock auction.

The Collector Club Tent: The collector club tent is there to provide shade, water, fans, and a sneak peak of models for those that are in the Collector Club. Last year, you were required to re-register, but it is free if you are in the Club.

Single Day Tickets: THESE GO ON SALE AROUND MAY, not earlier. They might increase in price, again, it is something that we do not know just yet. Last year, they were $15 in advance and $18 at the gate. You receive ONE stablemate PER ticket. If you want all four, please purchase four single day tickets. These can be picked up at the Help Desk.

Food and Drinks: The KHP and other vendors offer food and drinks at higher prices. We always recommend to bring your own snacks and drinks and MAKE SURE THAT YOU DRINK WATER!!! Kentucky is hot and humid and you will feel it within a few minutes of being outside. Be sure to stay hydrated and eat, even if you do not feel like it.

The Swap Meet at the Clarion: You are required to reserve a table from Breyer. You cannot just show up unless you want to shop. It is a busy event that draws tons of people. Be sure that you really want to do this before reserving a table as it does cost. Also, if you are not sure that you will be able to make it, sit down and think about it before spending the money on it. We cannot tell you what to do other than tell you what we would do.

The Live Show: I do NOT live show, but I do share all of the information that I can related to the event. I highly suggest joining their yahoo group if you have questions as we do not always know the answer to them.

The Contests: I share the information on them, but we do not know all of the rules about them. Between the admins, we have entered a couple of them, but nothing to the extent of some of the people here. Ask questions, but most people will not know the answers to this one.

A place to Charge Your Phone! This was a question that I saw on another group and it was answered there, but I am including the information here so that people have access to it and that it does not get lost in the crowd. The best places to charge your phone would be the Visitor’s Center and the Museum. These places provide plenty of outlets, provided that they are not currently in use and they provide air conditioning inside of these areas. There are also outlets in the bathrooms of the Covered Arena that can be used, but this place is rather humid and hot. I have used it in an emergency when my phone was dying and I needed to answer a call before making it to the other places. There are also some outlets in the actual Covered Arena itself, but these are mostly all taken and they are hard to find! I always recommend bringing at least two of the portable chargers that you can recharge overnight in the hotel room.

The Special Run Open Line: Usually on Sunday, after the last Special Run ticket has gone through, Breyer will open up the Special Run line to those that have three day tickets but not special run tickets (I believe). This is for an hour and the same rules still apply, two special runs of different models per customer.

*Drink water! More water than you have ever drank before and then drink more. You have not drank enough water yet actually. But in all seriousness, you need to stay hydrated and make sure that you try to stay away from coffee, tea, soda, etc.

*Pack extra clothes. The heat and the humidity do take a toll on the human body and you will sweat like crazy! Make sure that you pack enough clothes, especially socks to deal with this issue.
*Listen to the locals and those that post here. The cheap places to eat are usually the best. Some of the favorites include Waffle House, Red State BBQ, Cracker Barrel, Subway, and the staple of course, McDonalds. Of course, don’t forget Frisches and Gold Star Chili!

*Make sure to take breaks. Breyerfest is overwhelming, I won’t lie. It is hot, crowded, and an overload on the senses. Take a moment to sit down in the shade and take a breather some times.

*Take snacks to the park, if you do not feel like paying high prices for food. Food and drinks are allowed at the park so make sure to take advantage of that if you are looking to save money.
*Pets are permitted at the Park, but I would recommend, along with several other people, that they stay home or in the hotel. It is hot, they can burn, and you never can dictate just how they will act. I understand the need for support animals, but if they are not a support animal, they should stay home.

*You do not have to stand in line on the first day to get the Celebration Horse and the Stablemates. Later on in the day, the lines thin out and you will get them easier. Try to make the only line to stand in the Special Run Line.

*The Ninja Pit is NOT mandatory. You can arrive at the park and not stand in that horrible long line to get into the park. The line to the right side of the gate is for those that just want to get into the park or have a special run ticket for the first thing in the morning. If you do NOT want to get into the Breyer Store or the Pop Up Tent first thing on Friday Morning, then make sure to stand to the right side.

*If you are doing the Ninja Pit, please read the file that tells you about it, but rest assured that you will NOT find anything special there much anymore. Breyer is trying to do away with the idea of the Ninja Pit and they say that they release the warehouse models all through out the weekend.

*The Special Run line is complicated and dramatic, but the file here is one of the most comprehensive that you will find on the internet. Make sure to read the file, talk to others, and read what Breyer sends you. The line is easily understood once you have done it, but it is something that you need to experience it before you completely understand it. If you are still worried, I am always available at Breyerfest to help you in the line itself.

*Stablemate Painting is available and usually free for children 12 and under. I believe that adults cost a dollar, but it literally changes over the weekend and the availability of the models affects who is able to paint them. But it is always there.

*Vendors vary and we can only tell you what was there last year until the program is released. That will NOT be released until two weeks or so before the event. But there are always food vendors, lemonade, and of course, model horse vendors. If you are a vendor, please let us know so that we can be sure to visit you at the event.

·         Wear closed-toe shoes, because of the different types of terrain BreyerFest takes place on and you’ll be around lots of big horses.
·         You do not need to wait on a long line to get your Celebration Model or Single-Day Stablemates models first thing on Friday.  Models are available all weekend long.  As well, guests can collect their Celebration Models DURING their Special Run ticket time in the Special Run tent before they check out.
·         The KHP is very large and BreyerFest activities are fairly spread out, so plan to do a fair amount of walking.  If you need mobility assistance, BreyerFest partners with ScootAround for scooter rentals that can be delivered to your home or hotel room.
·         Be sure to read through the Guide to BreyerFest, even if you’ve been to BreyerFest a bunch of times before.  Locations change and rules change as the event grows each year.  As well, definitely take a look at the map, which indicates where things will be located for 2020’s event.
·         Do not get on line for the main Breyer Store in the Covered Arena, the large pop-up store, or the Special Run line without checking your bags first.  Bags larger and a Traditional scale model are not permitted in these stores and you could lose your place in line if you are asked by staff to check your bags before entering the store.

Second Special Run 2020

The second special run has been released and while we are a little late here on the blog, the main group had it posted for some time now.  It is an absolute spectacular model and it is aptly named.  So without further ado, let's meet Oak!

Oak is on the newly released Georg mold and is painted to look like a lively, yet kind Noriker stallion.  His coat is intricately painted and this model will be available in the Special Run Tent.  His price will be determined later.
