Let's Talk BreyerFest...The Special Run Preference List, That Is!

Let's Talk BreyerFest...The Special Run Preference List, That Is!

The Special Run Preference List is one of the most fretted about and talked about aspect of BreyerFest and to those that have never filled it out, it can seem confusing and just plain crazy! However, I am here to tell you that it really takes more to explain and think about than it does to actually complete the list.

Buying Special Runs with the Special Run Preference List is not that hard, but it does have a learning curve and it takes way more time to explain it than it does to actually experience it. So exactly how are you going to be buying these models?! You will be using the Special Run Preference List! This hard to explain, but easy to actually fill out list has been used since 2020 and is currently the standard in how to select and receive your Special Runs, to a degree. So how does it all work? First, in order to use this Special Run Preference List, you will need to purchase your Online Traditional Access Ticket before May 14th*. If you purchase your ticket after May 14th*, you will not be using the Special Run Preference List. After the cut off date, you will receive randomly selected models, if you are an Online Traditional Access Ticket Holder and the All Access Ticket Holder will receive Wild Card Redemption Tickets.

*May 14th is the date that is listed on the Breyer website for the All Access Ticket and no other ticket. You can see this information on the Ticket Purchasing page for the All Access Ticket.

Special Run Preference List:

This list allows you to rank the Special Runs in the order that you like them and then send that list back to Breyer to let them know how you would select them. This list does not guarantee that you will receive those models in that order by any means. It is just a list to tell Breyer how you would rank and purchase these models. After May 14th, you will receive an email with a link that will take you to a page on the Breyer website that will list all of the Special Runs and their prices available to you (in person has access to all of them and Online Traditional Access have access to only four). You will scroll down and see that you have two choices- a Master List or an Individual List.

The Master List allows you to rank the Special Runs for all of the tickets on your account in one place. This list is great to use if you are looking to not get as many duplicates. You will see as many number 1s through number 9s (or 4s for the online traditional access ticket) for however many tickets that you have on your account. No one is able to tell you how you want to rank the Special Runs and no one can predict exactly which ones will cost more, if you are looking to resell. Fill out the list in the ranking order that you want and make sure to submit the List. Breyer will accept the last list submitted so you are able to change it many times. You will see the option “No Other Options” or something like that and people will tell you to use that if you do not want any other models, but please use this option with caution- You could NOT receive a model!

The Individual List allows you to make a separate list for each ticket on your account. This list is great to use if you want greater control over the models that you want to receive and do not mind duplicates. You will be filling out a list for each ticket so you are able to change the rankings for each list. No one is able to tell you how you want to rank the models and no one can predict which ones will cost more to resell. Rank the Special Runs to your liking! You are able to submit the lists as many times as you want, Breyer will accept the last list submitted. You will see the option “No Other Options” or something like that and people will tell you to use that if you do not want any other models, but please use this option with caution- You could NOT receive a model!

*Please Note: No one can tell you how you want to fill out this list. Right now, no one knows exactly what these models will sell for on the second hand market and no one knows what you have in mind for your own collection. If you want duplicates of one model, the best way to go is the Individual List. If you do not want duplicates, the Master List is the best way to go.

Typically, you will have around 2 weeks in order to complete the Special Run Preference List and return it to Breyer. If you miss this step or you do not want to fill out a list, you will have random Special Runs selected for your account.

You will be paying for these models during BreyerFest and not before. At the time of the Special Run Preference List, you are just ranking the Special Runs and nothing else.

Let's Talk BreyerFest...Buying Models with the Online Stablemate Access Ticket, That Is!

Let’s Talk BreyerFest...Buying Models With An Online Stablemate Access Ticket, That Is!

In this next series of posts, I will be going over exactly how to purchase the Limited Edition and Special Run Models with each ticket type during BreyerFest. The fifth and final ticket type that we are going to go over is the Online Stablemate Access Ticket.

With the Online Stablemate Access Ticket, you are not able to purchase Special Runs. However, you are able to purchase the Limited Editions during BreyerFest. In order to purchase these models, you will need to either head to the BreyerFest Store at the event or the BreyerFest Store on the Breyer website.

The tax is extra for those models purchased off of the BreyerFest Store on the Breyer website as well as shipping to your location.

During the event, you are able to purchase as many Limited Editions as you want through the BreyerFest Store. Limited Editions are not limited in how many someone can purchase (they are limited in quantity though). Just head through the BreyerFest Store during BreyerFest and you can buy those awesome Limited Editions.

Online Tickets do not come with physical tickets. Your account is your ticket.

And Lastly-

You will be paying for your BreyerFest purchases through Breyer in the typical ways that you purchase models on the Breyer website. If you are purchasing through a vendor, make sure to check which type of payment that they take- not everyone takes PayPal anymore.

Let’s Talk BreyerFest...Buying Models With An Online Traditional Access Ticket, That Is!

In this next series of posts, I will be going over exactly how to purchase the Limited Edition and Special Run Models with each ticket type during BreyerFest. The fourth ticket type that we are going to go over is the Online Traditional Access Ticket.

This $65 ticket allows you to purchase one Special Run for each ticket that you have, allows you to purchase Limited Editions during the event, and so much more. As this post is all about buying models, that is all that I will be discussing here.

Special Runs:

Buying Special Runs with the Online Traditional Access Ticket is not that hard, but it does have a learning curve and it takes way more time to explain it than it does to actually experience it. Regarding the date: On the Breyer website, it does not state there is a cut off date for the Special Run Preference List, however I will be keeping the above date until we know a bit more, if there is more to know.

Typically, you will have around 2 weeks in order to complete the Special Run Preference List and return it to Breyer. If you miss this step or you do not want to fill out a list, you will have random Special Runs selected for your account.

On the Friday of BreyerFest, you will know which model (or models, if you have more than one ticket) were selected for your account. You will need to purchase them during BreyerFest weekend or you will miss out on them entirely. You will be paying shipping plus taxes on these models. All BreyerFest purchases will be shipped out in late July.

Actually Buying the Special Runs:

Once they are in your cart, you will be able to pay for them normally, as you would any other purchase from BreyerFest. It is highly, highly recommended by Breyer that they are shipped to the address that is already on file with Breyer, the one used when you purchased your ticket on your account.

Buying Limited Edition Models:

At the event, you are able to purchase as many Limited Editions as you want through the BreyerFest Store. Limited Editions are not limited in how many someone can purchase (they are limited in quantity though). Just head through the BreyerFest Store during BreyerFest and you can buy those awesome Limited Editions. The BreyerFest Store opens at 11 AM EDT on Friday during BreyerFest and remains open all weekend long- per the Breyer website.

Online Traditional Access Ticket Book Inclusions:

Virtual tickets do not get ticket books. Your account that purchased the BreyerFest ticket is your ticket.

And Lastly-

You will be paying for your BreyerFest purchases through Breyer in the typical ways that you purchase models on the Breyer website. If you are purchasing through a vendor, make sure to check which type of payment that they take- not everyone takes PayPal anymore.

Let's Talk BreyerFest...Buying Models with a General Access Ticket, That Is!

Let’s Talk BreyerFest...Buying Models With A General Access Ticket, That Is!

In this next series of posts, I will be going over exactly how to purchase the Limited Edition and Special Run Models with each ticket type during BreyerFest. The third ticket type that we are going to go over is the General Access Ticket.

With the General Access Ticket, you are not able to purchase Special Runs. However, you are able to purchase the Limited Editions during BreyerFest. In order to purchase these models, you will need to either head to the BreyerFest Store at the event or the BreyerFest Store on the Breyer website.

At the in person event, the tax is already included in the prices of the models in the BreyerFest Store. However, the tax is extra for those models purchased off of the BreyerFest Store on the Breyer website as well as shipping to your location.

At the event, you are able to purchase as many Limited Editions as you want through the BreyerFest Store. Limited Editions are not limited in how many someone can purchase (they are limited in quantity though). Just head through the BreyerFest Store during BreyerFest and you can buy those awesome Limited Editions.

General Access Ticket Book Inclusions:

What will come with the General Access Ticket Book? While we do not know exactly what the Ticket Books will look like for this year, we can guess what they might look like based off of last year. With the General Access Ticket Book, you will have one Redemption Ticket for one Event Stablemate (for each General Access Ticket that you have purchased), one ticket for the Celebration of Horses Evening Performance for the evening that you selected, one Parking Pass if you purchased one, and one Admission wristband that must be worn at all times during the event. Last year, there was also a map of BreyerFest and a small FAQ section, in case that you needed it.

And Lastly-

Breyer accepts cash and cards at BreyerFest, no checks at all. Make sure that you let your credit/debit card agency or bank know that you will be traveling and that you will incur charges from all over the US and some international even. There are very few ATMs in the area so if you need cash, make sure to grab it before coming to the Kentucky Horse Park. The internet is known to go down at BreyerFest, at least once during the event, so if you have cash, the lines can go a bit faster. At the Clarion, cash is king since many people do not accept cards or PayPal.

Let's Talk BreyerFest...Buying Models with an All Access Ticket, That Is!

Let’s Talk BreyerFest...Buying Models With An All Access Ticket, That Is!

In this next series of posts, I will be going over exactly how to purchase the Limited Edition and Special Run Models with each ticket type during BreyerFest. The second ticket type that we are going to go over is the All Access Ticket.

This in person ticket is the most common ticket that many BreyerFest Attendees will purchase. This $90 ticket allows you to purchase two Special Runs for each ticket that you have, allows you to purchase Limited Editions during the event, and so much more. As this post is all about buying models, that is all that I will be discussing here.

Special Runs:

Buying Special Runs with the All Access Ticket has certainly evolved over the years and this year is no exception. You do not get to select your models before hand, like the VIP Ticket, and you do not get to walk through the tent and buy what is there, to a degree. So exactly how are you going to be buying these models?! You will be using the Special Run Preference List! This hard to explain, but easy to actually fill out list has been used since 2020 and is currently the standard in how to select and receive your Special Runs, to a degree. So how does it all work? First, in order to use this Special Run Preference List, you will need to purchase your All Access Ticket before May 14th. If you purchase your ticket after May 14th, you will not be using the Special Run Preference List.

You will see as many number 1s through number 9s for however many tickets that you have on your account.

You will see the option “No Other Options” or something like that and people will tell you to use that if you do not want any other models, but please use this option with caution- You could NOT receive a model!

Typically, you will have around 2 weeks in order to complete the Special Run Preference List and return it to Breyer. If you miss this step or you do not want to fill out a list, you will have random Special Runs selected for your account.

When Ticket Books are sent out, you will find out which Special Runs were selected for your account. If you are International, you will need to wait until you pick up your Ticket Books from Will Call before the event. Inside your Ticket Books, you will have Redemption Tickets for the Special Runs that were pulled for your account. However, if the models that you had ranked near the top were not available during your “Time Slot” (This is an imaginary time slot that Breyer uses when pulling the Special Runs for your ticket and does not reflect a time slot at the in person event.), you will receive a Wild Card Redemption Ticket. The Wild Card Redemption Ticket will allow you select your Special Runs out of the remaining stock on hand at BreyerFest.

Actually Buying the Special Runs:

Even though you have used the Special Run Preference List to rank your Special Runs before the event, you will not actually be paying for your Special Runs until the event in July. When you have your Redemption Tickets, you will take them to the Special Run Tent and pick up your models and pay for them there. There will be signage to direct you to where the Special Run Tent is and which line that you will need to get into. You have all weekend long in order to pick up and purchase your Special Runs, there are no longer any Time Slots.

All Access Ticket Book Inclusions:

What will come with the All access Ticket Book? While we do not know exactly what the Ticket Books will look like for this year, we can guess what they might look like based off of last year. With the All Access Ticket Book, you will have one Redemption Ticket for the Celebration Horse Model (for each All Access Ticket that you have purchased), two Special Run Redemption Tickets for the Special Runs that were selected for your account or two Wild Card Redemption Tickets or one of each (for however many tickets are on your account), one ticket for the Celebration of Horses Evening Performance for the evening that you selected, one Parking Pass if you purchased one, and one Admission wristband that must be worn at all times during the event. Last year, there was also a map of BreyerFest and a small FAQ section, in case that you needed it.

Let’s Talk BreyerFest….Buying Models with a VIP Ticket, That Is!

Let’s Talk BreyerFest...Buying Models with a VIP Ticket, That Is!

In this next series of posts, I will be going over exactly how to purchase the Limited Edition and Special Run Models with each ticket type during BreyerFest. The first ticket type that we are going to go over is the VIP Ticket.

The VIP Ticket comes with a great perk- you are able to select and purchase two Special Runs and two Limited Editions before the event and those models are guaranteed for you. No other ticket offers that option.

You MUST purchase two Special Runs and two Limited Editions. You cannot just select one Special Run or one Limited Edition or no Limited Editions or no Special Runs. It must be two Special Runs and two Limited Editions.

Since you will be paying for the models at the time of ticket purchase, they are absolutely guaranteed that you will be receiving those models during BreyerFest. These models will NOT be shipped to your location as this is an in person only ticket. You are allowed to have someone pick up your models for you though, provided that you send that person along with the tickets and the wristband, information on that account/receipt, and a note of approval from you (if international).

At the event, you will not be able to purchase any more Special Runs. The Special Runs that you purchased before the event, when you purchased your tickets, are the only Special Runs that you will be able to buy. When you receive your Ticket Books (international attendees must pick up their ticket books from Will Call with ID as stated in the BreyerFest FAQs), you will have Redemption Tickets for the two Special Runs that you have chosen. These will be marked in such a way that only a VIP Ticket Holder can redeem them, so when going through the line, you must be wearing a VIP Ticket wristband. The same goes for the two Limited Editions that you purchased in advance- there will be a Redemption Ticket that is specially marked for them as well.

At the event, you are able to purchase as many Limited Editions as you want through the BreyerFest Store. Limited Editions are not limited in how many someone can purchase (they are limited in quantity though). Just head through the BreyerFest Store during BreyerFest and you can buy those awesome Limited Editions.

You are able to purchase Limited Editions off of the virtual BreyerFest Store during BreyerFest as well and have those models shipped to your location. You will be able to purchase the Online Only Limited Editions during BreyerFest.

A Recap of Model Terms:

Special Runs are a series of nine models that are named for things found in the theme of BreyerFest. These models are only able to be purchased by VIP, All Access, and Online Traditional Access Ticket Holders.

Limited Editions are a series of different sized models, including Traditional sized portrait models of Guest Horses, that are available for all ticket holders to purchase during BreyerFest.

VIP Ticket Book Inclusions:

What will come with the VIP Ticket Book? While we do not know exactly what the Ticket Books will look like for this year, we can guess what they might look like based off of last year. With the VIP Ticket Book, you will have one Redemption Ticket for the Celebration Horse Model, one Redemption Ticket for the Event Stablemate Full Set, two Special Run Redemption Tickets for the Special Runs that you selected and paid for, two Limited Edition Redemption Tickets for the Limited Editions that you selected and paid for, one ticket for the Celebration of Horses Evening Performance for the evening that you selected, one Parking Pass, and one Admission wristband that must be worn at all times during the event. Last year, there was also a map of BreyerFest and a small FAQ section, in case that you needed it.
