I want to purchase a full set of Single Day Stablemates, will I be able to? This information is not available at this time

I am attending the virtual event, why can't I buy Special Runs? You are able to purchase one Special Run this year.

Do the Special Runs reflect the Theme? Not typically, however their names will reflect the theme of BreyerFest. Things can always change though.

What are the differences in these crazy terms? There are many model types that will be available for BreyerFest. Some are available to everyone, some are only able to be won from the horse shows or the contests. You can read a lot more about them in our BreyerFest for Beginners Guide. The ones that you will see the most are the following: Event Models, these are the models that come with your tickets. Celebration Horse, this is the model that comes with certain ticket types. Single Day Stablemates, these are the Event Stablemates that come with certain ticket types. Special Runs, these are the models that are able to be purchased by certain ticket types. Limited Editions, these are models that everyone is able to purchase. Limited Editions include Store Specials or portrait models, Tent Models, Pop Up Store models, and more. Those are just some that you will see daily.

Is Tax included in the Prices or is it separate? Tax is included in the costs of the in person Special Run and Limited Edition Models. Tax is added to online orders.

EVENT INFORMATION

I am attending the in person event, where can I stay? Make sure to check out our BreyerFest for Beginners Guide on the FB group as there is a section just for hotels and some phone numbers to call as well.  There is also a post here in this blog about it as well.

Will I need a vehicle for the in person event? Yes, it is highly recommended to have some sort of transportation for the event.

Is there cell phone service? Yes, however it depends on your cell phone service provider. Verizon is one that only has spotty service at best and T-Mobile seems to have the best.

Is there more than one Parking Lot at the Kentucky Horse Park? Yes, there are many, many parking lots. However, since the entrance to BreyerFest is the Rolex Gate located near the American Saddlebred Museum, the Visitor’s Center Parking Lot is the most highly used one. However, all of the parking lots are great and there are shuttles running all weekend long to take you from your vehicle to the gate.

Which gate should I use? The Rolex Gate is the one that is most associated with BreyerFest. This is the gate closest to the Covered Arena, where BreyerFest centers around. You are able to use the Main Entrance, however there will be a walk to get to the Covered Arena. The Will Call is also located at the Rolex Gate.

Will there be lines? Yes. However, please note that once you have your Redemption Tickets for your Event Models, there is no reason to stand in line. You are guaranteed those models. But there will be a line for the BreyerFest Store, the bathrooms, food and drinks, Guest Horse autographs, and more.

What time do I need to get there on Friday Morning? This is a question that only you can truly answer, however here are some things to keep in mind: There will be traffic. Enough traffic that the Kentucky State Police will be out on the main highway to direct traffic. There will be a line to find a parking spot. There will be a line to enter the park at the Rolex Gate. In the past, there were three lines that entered the gate in the morning, however with the changes that are happening, we are not sure exactly how it will work at this time. Personally, I recommend getting there early. Even if you are just looking for a decent place to park, getting there early will help you beat the traffic. I know that many people start showing up around 6 AM EDT to 7 AM EDT.

Will there be traffic? Yes. Traffic will be heavy on Friday morning and even on Saturday morning. The traffic in the evening will be heavy as well as BreyerFest ends for the day. After BreyerFest ends on Friday and Saturday, many people will start heading to the Altech Arena to attend the Celebration Of Horses Evening Performance. After that event, traffic will be heavy again as people start to leave. Definitely keep that in mind.

Where is the Rolex Gate? The Rolex Gate is located to the right of the Main Entrance and to the left of the American Saddlebred Museum. This gate is where Will Call will be located.

Is there handicapped parking? Yes. The majority of the parking lot closest to the Visitor’s Center and the American Saddlebred Museum will be marked off as Handicapped.

Is BreyerFest handicapped accessible? Yes, it is. There are some obstacles and it is hot and humid, however the event is accessible to everyone. Please check out the post in the BreyerFest for Beginners Guide about this.

Where does BreyerFest actually take place? BreyerFest centers around the Covered Arena, however you will have access to the whole Kentucky Horse Park and I will always recommend checking that out. The Covered Arena is where the Vendor Marketplace and the Equine Demonstrations will happen. This is also where the BreyerFest Store is located. The warm up arena right behind the Covered Arena is usually taken over by the Stablemate Painting and other areas of interest. The barns are behind that and that is where the Guest Horses will be stabled, along with the autograph area. Behind that and to the side a bit, the Event Model pick ups will be located on the corner of Nina Bonnie Drive and Lee Cholak Drive. The Visitor’s Center will hold the Seminars this year and the Altech Arena, which is a drive down Cigar Lane or about a 15 minute walk from the Covered Arena is where the Workshops, the Model Shows, and the Celebration of Horses Evening Performance will be.

Where are the Model Horse Shows held? The Altech Arena, which is about a fifteen minute walk from the Covered Arena or you can drive there on Cigar Lane. There is ample parking there and a shuttle that runs from there to the Covered Arena and the main parking lot.

Where are the Workshops? This information is not available at this time

Where is the Artisan’s Gallery? This will be located at the Clarion Hotel, about a five minute drive from the Kentucky Horse Park. Please note that the Clarion Parking Lot does fill up FAST and it is normally reserved for the patrons of the hotel. It opens up at 5 PM EDT on Thursday.

Can I bring a wagon to the event? While this is not prohibited, many BreyerFest veterans will tell you that bringing a wagon is not a good idea. It cannot be taken into the stores and it is hard to move around the Covered Arena with one. The best option is to store your models in your vehicle or hotel room.

What is Will Call and where will it be located? This information is not available at this time

Since bags are not allowed in the Breyer Store and the Special Run Tent, will there be a bag check? Likely! In BreyerFest history, there has been up to two of these bag checks, one over by the Breyer Store and one by the Special Run Tent. These bag checks have no limit on how many that you can place there, but you can only keep it there for an hour.

Is there food at the Park? Yes, there will be Food Vendors and the Kentucky Horse Park has a restaurant and a few snack stations as well.

I am going to the in person event, but I want to get the Special Runs. How can I do so? Special Runs will be available using the Special Run Preference List once again.

What tickets do not get Special Runs? General Access and the Online Stablemate Access

Will there be other crazy people there like me? Well, of course! But we do not think that you are crazy. BreyerFest is for all ages, not just crazy kids. There is plenty of room for crazy adults and crazy grandparents and even a crazy teenager or two! No matter your age, you will not be alone!

What is the Clarion? The Clarion is a hotel that is near the Kentucky Horse Park. This hotel acts as a hub for model horse activity during the event. Many people use their rooms at this hotel to sell or trade model horses. Breyer also uses this hotel as the site for the Artisan's Gallery and the Swap Meet. I believe that the BreyerFest Live! Resin Rennaissance show is held here as well. The Clarion has a small parking lot for this size hotel, so it is recommended to find a ride rather than park here. You can read more about the Clarion in our Let’s Talk BreyerFest Guide

What time does the Swap Meet start? 7:30 PM EDT on Thursday and Friday and the doors close promptly at 11:00 PM EDT.

Can I bring my pets to the event? The answer is technically yes, however the majority of the group will tell you no for many, many reasons. This question is not allowed in this group and there is to be no discussion of it because the answer from the group is a resounding no. Comments about this topic will be deleted immediately.

Am I able to bring my own food and a cooler? Yes. As long as you do not bring anything glass into the park, it is typically allowed. Many veterans will tell you to keep your Cooler in the car and make trips out there to get your food. There is not a lot of room in the Covered Arena when the event is going strong, so wagons, coolers on wheels, and such are not recommended.

I am attending the in person event, do I need an account on Breyer's website? Breyer says that yes you do. This is a free account to create so no worries. Plus there are two online only models that you can purchase and they are available to all ticket holders!

I am a Collector Club member, do I get a discount on tickets? No, they are no longer offering discounts on BreyerFest tickets for Collector Club members. However, they do have other things planned. At this time, we are not sure what these other things are.

How many models can I buy? How many do you want to buy? That is the real question! However, it does break down and there are certain limits. At an in person event, you can buy as many Limited Edition models as you want, no matter what ticket type that you have.

Do Limited Edition Models sell out? YES! At the in person event, they usually sell out very quickly. With this hybrid event, we will need to see how fast they sell out before I can confidently answer this question more in depth.

Will my models be mailed to me? If you have in person event tickets, no. Your models will not be mailed to you. However, if you purchase models online during the event, including the Limited Editions, those will be mailed to you. If you have virtual event tickets, then yes, all of your models will be mailed to you.

Am I guaranteed to get a model other than the Celebration Horse or the Event Stablemates during the event? If you are a VIP Ticket Holder, then yes you are guaranteed to receive those models that you pre-paid for. However, the other tickets are never guaranteed models and it does state this on the Breyer website.

I am attending the virtual event, when will my models be sent to me? Yes, they will be mailed to your location. There will be shipping charges this year.

I purchased tickets for the virtual event, but I can make it to the in person event, will my tickets still count? No, you will need to purchase the in person tickets in order to attend the in person event.

Will there be Store Specials and Pop Up Tent Models? Yes, these models have been lumped together and are now called the Limited Edition Models. They will be available during BreyerFest at the in person BreyerFest Stores or on the Breyer website during BreyerFest. You must have a BreyerFest Ticket in order to purchase them.

Will there be real horses at BreyerFest? Yes! More than you will know about will attend BreyerFest. This will be the time to see some of the best horses around the world and even get their owner’s autograph.

Can I pet a real horse at BreyerFest? Yes. Many horse owners will gladly allow you to pet their horse. However, the rule is to ask first! Some horses can be a bit nippy.

What is there to do besides buy models at BreyerFest? There will be an amazing Equine Demonstration show all weekend long happening in the Covered Arena where you can sit down and watch horses of all breeds do what they do best. You can explore the entire Kentucky Horse Park and all of their museums, and more.

Will it be crowded? Yes, BreyerFest is always crowded. The Kentucky Horse Park will be crowded, the Covered Arena will be crowded, the Clarion will be crowded.

Are there places to escape the sun and sit down? Yes, the Covered Arena is a great place to sit down, maybe grab something to eat, and watch the horses. However, this is not an air conditioned area and it will be crowded. The Visitor’s Center and the Museums are air conditioned to escape the heat.

Can I bring models to sell at the Kentucky Horse Park? In theory, yes. However since wagons and carts are hard to use in the limited space, many people actually wear signs made from paper that state what they have to sell and what they are looking for. It might sound goofy, but it works.

I don’t have a room at the Clarion, can I still sell there? I would say no. If you do not have a room that you are selling out of and are not participating through selling from Breyer, I would not recommend bringing in models to sell. I would say to leave them in your car and maybe let it be known that you have some trade fodder or something of that nature.

What is best, cash or credit? Well, most people will tell you that cash is king. But many people do accept PayPal and many other forms of credit card payments. If you are coming to Kentucky from out of state, please let your bank know that you are traveling so that they do not shut down your card during the weekend.

Are there local farms to tour? Yes, many of them require you to sign up in advance though so definitely keep that in mind. Old Friends is a fan favorite as you will get to see some retired race horses and learn about their stories. They are also many famous Thoroughbred farms nearby that have amazing tours.

What are some local hotels to stay at? There is a list of ten local hotels in the BreyerFest for Beginners Guide to help you get started, along with a link that I found to all of these hotels. I, personally, do not stay in a hotel, however that post in the Guide has several amazing recommendations as well as the ten that I listed.

What kind of food is nearby? What do you like to eat? No, but seriously, there are a lot of restaurants and grocery stores near the Horse Park, if you do not mind a short drive. There is a small list already started in the BreyerFest for Beginners section and I have plans to place all of the recommendations in that post, but time keeps getting away from me.

I am planning to attend the in person event, but I need to know what airports are in the area. I got you! Check out the BreyerFest for Beginners Guide. While I cannot recommend one in particular, I am sure that someone can help you on that post to find one that fits your needs.

What else is there to do in Lexington? There is so much stuff that I honestly forget it all whenever I type this out so I know that some awesome Roadies will always remind me what there is to do. There are Bourbon tours, orchards to visit, lots of museums, Keenland, lots of farm tours, and so much more! But don't forget to pace yourself! There is a list in the BreyerFest for Beginners Guide that states many fun "other" things to do beside BreyerFest.

What happens if the in person event is canceled due to Covid? We will cross that bridge when we get to it, if we do. We do not allow any talk of the pandemic in this group, but I have seen this topic come up very often in other groups, on other's pages, and more places. Please know that no matter what, Breyer will have a back up plan and I still have my notes from the last two completely virtual events. You will always be kept in the loop and ready for anything.

Am I required to be vaccinated or required to wear a mask during the in person event? Again, we do not discuss the pandemic and the various topics associated with it here in this group, but this is a common question. Here in Ky, large gatherings are still happening and they do ask that you put a mask on while attending the event, no matter what your vaccine status is. Many people do, many people do not. That is as far as I am going to allow on this topic and comments or submitted posts about this topic will be immediately deleted.

Frequently Asked Questions- The Return!

You want to attend BreyerFest, but it all seems so confusing. Have no worries, this group has totally got your back! Reading the Guides will definitely help you and should answer a lot of the questions that you might have about this event and more.

*Tickets are expensive. What else can you do beside buy expensive plastic horses? Tickets are expensive because they really include a lot of stuff with them. There are different kinds of tickets that offer different levels of everything. With each ticket, you will be receiving a model that goes with that ticket. With the VIP, All Access, and the virtual Traditional Access Ticket, you will receive a Celebration Horse Model, which is a Traditional sized model (1:9 scale). With the General Access and the virtual Stablemate Access Tickets, you will receive one randomly selected Event Stablemate. However, you are then welcome to explore the Kentucky Horse Park, meet some real horses, see them perform their disciplines, paint a Stablemate model, learn about the Model Horse Hobby, and so much more. Sure, shopping is at the top of the list, especially for those that like to buy plastic horses, but there is always something for everyone at BreyerFest.

*Are models guaranteed with the tickets? Well, yes, kind of. Each ticket is guaranteed an Event Model. The only ticket that is absolutely guaranteed any models other than the Event Model is the VIP Ticket, which sold out in March.

*Are all of the models released? This information is not available at this time

*Will there be Stablemate Painting? Yes! In fact, there will be two locations for Stablemate Painting this year. One will be near the Covered Arena and the other will be in the Celebration Park, according to their maps released.

*Can I ship models back to my house since I traveled here? Yes! UPS will be located at the Clarion Hotel as well as on the concourse of the Covered Arena during BreyerFest. There is also a large USPS Hub in Lexington.

*Am I going to be standing in line forever? Maybe? I mean, no one can really predict exactly how this event will play out, especially since Breyer is changing everything this year. There will be a line to get into BreyerFest each morning. There will be a line at Will Call to pick up the Tickets. There will be lines for food and more, I promise that.

*Is it going to be crowded? If you ask me, I am going to say yes! BreyerFest has had two years where it was virtual only and the die hard BreyerFest attendees are eager to go back to the in person event. There will be both in person and virtual aspects to BreyerFest this year, but I do expect a near sold out, if not sold out crowd.

*Do I have to buy the Special Runs that were selected for my account? These were not at the top of my list! Well, you don't have to buy anything at BreyerFest, Special Runs included.

*Ugh! They sold out of Limited Runs, what now? Well, they do tend to sell out. You can check back later since Breyer does restock all weekend long (in person, not the website). You can head online and see if they are still available there. You can also check the Clarion down the road to see if anyone is selling some there, but those will be high priced already.

*Will there be food there? Yes. Breyer is having some food trucks come in, they are labeled as light refreshments so we are not sure that they are right now. However, the Kentucky Horse Park should be having their Snack Bar open and it does provide meals. If not, there are restaurants within five miles of the Kentucky Horse Park. Definitely do NOT forget to check out the lemonade and grab their cup that you can get like half priced refills all weekend long.

*Is there parking? Yes, lots of it. However some of it is not near the Rolex Gate, which is the entrance to BreyerFest. But there will be shuttles running to the gate from the parking lots!

*Which entrance do I use? The Rolex Gate. The Rolex Gate is located to the left of the American Saddlebred Museum, however the best advice is look for the huge line and the blue and yellow flags everywhere. Breyer is pretty good with signage to the entrance and everywhere in between.

*Do I have to pay for parking each time that I come to the park? If you purchased a Parking Pass from Breyer, then no. However, if you did not get a Parking Pass, you will need to pay each time that you come into the park.

*Will I be lost at the event? I hope not! There will be signage and a Help Desk on site. However, if you get lost and do not know who to turn to, you can always feel free to post here in this group. I will be there and so will many other Roadies. We got you!

*OMG, I don't want to be alone! Will there be people there to hang out with? Yes! No matter where you turn, there are usually about a million people there. Ok, maybe not that many, but there are several people, especially here in the group, that go alone and will be eager to hang out with someone. I am always available to sit with you, stand in line with you, have a meal with you, whatever you need.

Are there shuttles to get around? Shuttle information has not been released yet.

I am sure that I will add more to this when I see questions pop up, but I promise you that it really is more complicated to explain and talk about than it is to experience it. Make sure to read the Guides and I can definitely point you in the direction that you need or answer your questions. In fact, the majority of the amazing BreyerFest Veterans here in the group are ready to answer your questions and there is no question that is stupid!

Hope this helps!

For me personally, I typically buy one VIP Ticket and one All Access Ticket.

Let's Talk BreyerFest...The Artisan's Gallery, That Is!

Let’s Talk BreyerFest...The Artisan’s Gallery, That Is!

First, I feel the need to tell you that the Artisan’s Gallery does not actually take place at the Kentucky Horse Park. It does take place at the Clarion Hotel, which is about five minutes down the road though. Parking can be rough at the Clarion, even with new parking added in, so Breyer typically does have shuttles running from the Kentucky Horse Park to the Clarion and to other local hotels to the Clarion. You can also hitch rides with many other hobbyists to this location.

Ok, now that is out of the way and I can definitely start talking about the Artisan’s Gallery! What is the Artisan’s Gallery? This is a place in the Clarion Hotel during BreyerFest where artists gather to sell their wares. These wares can be custom model horses, resin horses, tack, horse drawn vehicles, flat artwork, and so much more. You will also get to see the finalists for the Best Customs Contest and in person looks at the BreyerFest horses that are released for that event. The Surprise Special Run will not be shown during those sneak peeks.

The Artisan’s Gallery opens up on Thursday before BreyerFest and it gets crowded fast! The hours will be announced in advance and there will be signage when you get there showing the location and times for the Gallery. Once the doors are open, you are allowed to go inside and shop to your heart’s content. It, then, closes on Saturday around 11 PM EDT, but times might vary in 2023.

Artists looking to sell in the Artisan’s Gallery will need to register in advance when Breyer releases the information. There is a fee associated with it and that will be paid upon your acceptance into the Gallery. When Breyer releases the information about the Artisan’s Gallery, it will be shared in this group so that you may decide if this is the right place for you to sell your models.

Also taking place in the Artisan’s Gallery is the announcement of who won the Best Customs Contest. That announcement takes place late on Saturday night. There is no advanced warning that this will be taking place other than a blurb in the BreyerFest program, unless things are changed, which they totally could be.

You do not need to have a BreyerFest Ticket to shop at the Clarion Hotel and the Artisan’s Gallery. You do not even need to be staying at the Clarion Hotel to shop there and to check out the Artisan’s Gallery.

As we look forward to 2023, remember that things can and might change, even the things that have always been. When more information is released, it will definitely be shared, however this is the information that we have as of right now, based on the previous years.

I hope that this helps!

Let's Talk BreyerFest...The Collector Club Tent, That Is!

Let’s Talk BreyerFest...What The Collector Club Tent is, That Is!

The Collector Club Tent at BreyerFest is always asked about and many hobbyists have no idea what it actually is. Breyer does not talk about it much in their BreyerFest planning other than to share that it is there and that it is for Collector Club members and other hobbyists will tell you that it is nice. But what really is it?

I assure you that it is not a mystical place where all of your wishes come true, although that sure sounds like fun! However, it is a great place to escape the sun for a moment, grab a drink in front of a fan, and see some awesome sneak peeks from Breyer.

In order to enter the Collector Club Tent, you do need to be a member of the Collector Club. However, you are allowed to bring your child inside and many times, they will allow you to bring in your BreyerFest partner as well. But, it is up to the sole discretion of the Breyer Employee/Volunteer that is working the tent entrance. When asked, Breyer states that this Tent is for the Collector Club members only. But again, it is up to the people that are working the tent entrance.

When you go to the Tent for the first time, you will need to “register” there. They will check the list to see if you are on it and you will be given a name tag that you are able to write your name on. You will also get six tickets for free water, the small ones. Then you are allowed inside.

Inside the tent, there are tables and chairs to sit at and talk or relax in the giant fans that are blowing somewhat cool air through the tent. There is a section of long tables that will show off the Collector Club models that have been released and that are coming soon, Premiere Club models that have been released, Stablemate Club models that have been released and might be coming soon, and Vintage Club models that have been released and might be coming soon. There has been stickers and pamphlets to pick up there as well, in the past.

There is no longer a Collector Club discount on BreyerFest tickets.

As we look forward to 2023, remember that things can and might change, even the things that have always been. This Tent could vanish or it could become something more grand or it could stay the same. Who is allowed inside with you might change or it might remain the same, although Breyer will never make a parent leave their child outside the tent alone. When more information is released, it will definitely be shared, however this is the information that we have as of right now, based on the previous years.

I hope that this helps!

Let's Talk BreyerFest...The Down Time, That Is!

Let’s Talk BreyerFest...The Down Time, That Is!

Let Talk BreyerFest, The Down Time and What You Can Do, That Is!

We are entering a stretch of time where not a lot of BreyerFest information will be released and that wait can be agonizing! However, there is still a lot that you can do in this time, even before a lot of information is released! From just learning about the model horse hobby to exploring what you might want to do during BreyerFest, I hope to show you what you can do while we are waiting for more BreyerFest information to be released.

Tickets

We know that Tickets will not go on sale until February 2023 and we do not even know what kind of tickets will be available when they do go on sale. However, we do know that there will be both an in person and a virtual event, so we can start there. If you know which event that you will be attending, then you will need to know which ticket to purchase and while we do not have the actual ticket information, we do know that there is typically one ticket that offers a higher level of things to buy and do and one that offers a lower level of things to buy and do. That is definitely a starting place!

So, let’s go over the in person event first: We know that there will be at least two ticket types based on the previous years. There will be one that will offer a Celebration Horse and allow you to purchase Special Runs and one that will offer an Event Stablemate and will not allow you to purchase Special Runs. Each ticket allows you to purchase Limited Edition models from the BreyerFest Store during BreyerFest, so there is no need to worry about that. I will not be mentioning the VIP Ticket as we do not yet know if this will be an option for 2023. Remember that Ticket Names can change and those changes will always be reflected in the posts here in this group.

The Celebration Horse, which is the Traditional sized model that is a portrait of the horse chosen to headline BreyerFest, only comes with certain tickets during BreyerFest. Last year, this was the All Access Ticket. This ticket also came with the ability to purchase up to two Special Runs per ticket. This ticket also allowed you to participate in the Model Horse Shows for an added fee, Workshops for an added fee, Contests depending on location of ticket holder, and more. This ticket offers the fullest experience that you can have during BreyerFest, meaning that you can enter more activities and buy more models.

However, don’t count out the other ticket yet! The ticket that offers the Event Stablemate, known as the General Admission ticket for 2022, allows you to purchase Limited Edition models, attend free seminars, experience an equine film festival, and so much more. Both tickets allow you to experience all three days of the Kentucky Horse Park, shop the Marketplace at the Horse Park, experience the Artisan’s Gallery and the Swap Meet at the Clarion Hotel, see the Celebration Of Horses Evening Performance, and so much more! Make sure to read about both tickets when they are released to finalize your decision and never fret that we are here to help you, although I am always going to tell you to go big!

Now for the virtual event: The virtual event actually has different tiers of tickets as well! One will offer a Celebration Horse and access to other BreyerFest events that will be listed when the ticket information is released, and the other will offer a randomly selected Event Stablemate and the ability to purchase Limited Editions and access the BreyerFest section of the Breyer website. I know, there is not a lot of information about 2023 right now and we need to wait until Breyer releases that information. Make sure to check out more information about the virtual event over in the BreyerFest for Beginners Guide as well as here in the Let’s Talk BreyerFest Guide to learn all what is available for the virtual event!

Planning

Now that we have covered Tickets and you have an idea if you are attending the in person or the virtual event, you can actually start planning without needing to know the information about the tickets. This is a great time to check out the Hotel Recommendation post, the Restaurant Recommendation Post, and the Other Places to Visit Recommendation post in the BreyerFest for Beginners Guide. Hotels are filling up fast and many will be sold out before Breyer even starts releasing a lot of information. On those posts, I have included links to help get started as well. I have not included Air BnB at this time, however I do have a post coming for that soon. The Kentucky Horse Park Campground is listed and there is a link there with more information and where to register.

The other Guides will have information regarding the things that happen during BreyerFest. I know, so much reading, however I thought that this was a great way to have all of the information in one place. There is so much to do during BreyerFest, especially if it is your first time, that you might feel totally overwhelmed, even planning it and that is alright! We are here to help! After checking out the Recommendation posts, you can start learning about BreyerFest and what happens there. From the Clarion and why you should go to that hotel to just what happens during the Equine Demonstrations, there is so much information to look over.

Make a loose plan of your time in Kentucky, from arrival to departure, and what you might want to do that day. Are you only here for BreyerFest? Awesome, make sure to take in all of the sights of the Kentucky Horse Park, walk through the barns and meet the horses that inspire the Breyer models, shop the Breyer Store and the Marketplace, and definitely do not forget those seminars! Are you here to explore Kentucky as well during your BreyerFest Trip? Great! Make sure to add in those other places that you want to explore, talk with other veterans about what they do during their BreyerFest Adventures, and plan your trip. There are many horse farms in the area to visit and see, however these typically require you to register in advance for tours and they do fill up fast. In the Other Places to Visit Recommendations Guide, I have provided a link that will help you register for these farms. These are all great things to start planning, even before BreyerFest information is released.

Lists of Models to Buy or Sell

Now is a great time to start making that list of the models that you are looking to add to your collection. You can also make a list of the models that you want to sell or trade during BreyerFest. Even if you are not selling at the Clarion, the Marketplace, or the Swap Meet, you are still able to walk around with a wagon at the Kentucky Horse Park and sell your models. That is totally a thing to do! However, if you are looking to just buy models, there are so many places to find them for sale during BreyerFest, even other hotels! You never know where you might find a deal on the model that you have been dreaming about your whole life! BreyerFest is a time to complete those congas, even virtually! RTB Sales and Trades offers a Room Sale feature where you can register for free and be added to a directory on the group and use the albums to list what you have for sale. Sign ups start soon, so make sure to join that group, if you are interested.

So, in conclusion, there is so much to do still before Breyer releases any of the actual BreyerFest information. If you want to wait until information is released, that is awesome as well! BreyerFest and the planning of your BreyerFest adventure is totally up to you, we are here to just guide your way and to let you know of all of the awesome stuff that you can do during BreyerFest and the other times of the year. If you are new to the hobby and you are doing this for your kids or a beloved family member, I highly recommend taking a stroll through our Model Horse Hobby Information Guide to help sort out those crazy terms that we use in the hobby as well as read the other BreyerFest centered Guides. Let’s get excited about BreyerFest, I know that I am!

I hope that this helps as we wait not so patiently for Breyer to release BreyerFest information!

Do I Need A Vehicle For BreyerFest?

I will be quickly exploring the ins and outs of transportation around BreyerFest and Lexington Ky.  This is not a complete Guide and it really is just information based on my thoughts as a BreyerFest veteran.  The answer will come down to what you are comfortable with during this event.

BreyerFest takes place at the Kentucky Horse Park and while this is a large facility, it is actually away from the majority of the hotels in the area.  There is one major gas station near it with a restaurant in there, but the rest is all at least a five to ten minute travel from the Park.

Hotels in the area do not offer shuttles to local attractions and the BreyerFest shuttle (if it is indeed running this coming year) will only be running on Friday and Saturday, according to the schedule in 2019.  This BreyerFest shuttle runs from the Clarion hotel to the Kentucky Horse park and back.  Many people, myself included, will always recommend either driving to Kentucky (if your car can take it) or renting a vehicle once you are here.  Many people do offer rides, but these can be sporadic and might not be going where you want to go.

There are a variety of local food places that are not accessible by the shuttle as well.  However, there is a bus route in Lexington Ky.  I do not currently know this route, but I do know that the Kentucky Horse Park is not included in this route and is located several miles from the last stop.

So, in conclusion, the best advice is that yes, you will need a vehicle for BreyerFest.  Cabs and Uber like rides are available, but they could be sporadic as well due to the sheer traffic in the area due to the event.  It is best to bring your own vehicle or rent one from a reliable company.

BreyerFest 2023: What is BreyerFest and More

BreyerFest 2023: What is BreyerFest and More

Welcome to Road To BreyerFest, a fan made and fan ran group to help you experience BreyerFest and provide a positive model horse community. But I know that you are really here for the BreyerFest information so let’s get started!

It is highly recommended that you join the FB group in order to get the most up to date and accurate information. Here is the link to that group and please remember the answer the questions to be added instantly: Road To BreyerFest

First, all information that is released about BreyerFest comes straight from Breyer and their BreyerFest Blog on their website. All of the information about BreyerFest here in this group will come directly from there and no other sources so the information here is completely reliable and accurate. No guessing in what might happen. However, this does lead to things being changed some times and information can and does change occasionally. You can rest assured that information here in this group, especially the Guides, is straight from Breyer.

That being said, What is BreyerFest? BreyerFest is a once a year celebration of all things horse. It takes place in Lexington, Kentucky and celebrates the horse in all of its forms. From plastic horses to real horses, everything that you see during BreyerFest will be horse related. You will be able to see the real horses that inspire the Breyer models, see new disciplines and the horses that excel at them, and meet the artists behind some of the fabulous model horses, both straight from Breyer and those that are custom made. This events spans over three days in July. BreyerFest is the comic convention for horse lovers. BreyerFest now includes a virtual aspect for those that are unable to make the trip to Lexington. The virtual aspect includes interviews with the Guest Horses, interviews with artists, a daily live stream to watch the equine Demonstrations and so much more. The virtual aspect takes place on the Breyer website.

When is BreyerFest? Typically BreyerFest happens the second week in July. 2023 has not had the dates officially released yet, so sadly they are not here in this group as of right now. A little hint to see when it might happen is to check out the Clarion (there are no rooms available at this time, but there is a wait list) and see what dates they have blocked off for the event. As soon as the dates are released, they will be made available here in this group and will be placed in the Pinned Post right as you come to the group so that you do not need to make a post to ask.

Where is BreyerFest? BreyerFest takes place at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky. The main event takes place in the Covered Arena at the Horse Park and takes up much of the surrounding area there, from the barns to the grassy area in front of the Rolex Arena. The Altech Arena at the Kentucky Horse Park is also used as it is the location of the Model Horse Shows for BreyerFest and in 2022 was the location for all of the Workshops. The Visitor’s Center at the Horse Park is typically the location for all of the free seminars. However, don’t forget that down the road a few miles is the Clarion (CHIN) Hotel and that is the location for the Room Sales, the Artisan’s Gallery, and the Swap Meet. BreyerFest can also be attended on the Breyer website by those that hold virtual event tickets.
How much is BreyerFest? The prices can and do change often so right now, I will be using the prices for 2022. There were five ticket types for BreyerFest 2022 and each one had a different price point and came with different things. For the in person events, there was a VIP Ticket, an All Access Ticket, and the General Admission Ticket. For the virtual events, there was an Online Traditional Ticket and the Online Stablemate Ticket. Each ticket comes with a model, but which model depends on which tickets have been purchased. Here is what 2022 brought us for the tickets:
VIP- $230 plus the cost of two Special Runs and two Limited Editions. You had to purchase the Special Runs and the Limited Editions at the time of ticket purchase and you could not forfeit a model. This price could easily be around $500 for the final cost per ticket and it was limited to one per address. It came with the following: One Celebration Horse Model, One full set of Event Stablemates, Two pre-purchased Special Runs, Two pre-purchased Limited Editions, the ability to purchase Limited Editions during the event, a parking pass, and more.
All Access- $80. You were able to purchase two Special Runs per ticket purchased using the Special Run Preference List (This is a list where you rank the Special Runs in the order that you like them and Breyer assigned you which models that you could purchase according to that list.) It came with the following: One Celebration Horse, access to purchase two Special Runs per ticket, access to purchase the Limited Editions during the event, access to purchase a parking pass, and more.
General Access- $25. It came with the following: One randomly selected Event Stablemate, access to purchase Limited Editions during the event, access to purchase the Limited Editions during the event, and more.
Online Traditional Access- $55. This ticket was very much confused with the All Access Ticket, however this ticket was for the virtual event only. It came with the following: One Celebration Horse model, access to purchase one randomly selected Special Run per ticket, access to purchase the Limited Editions during the event, and more.
Online Stablemate Access- $25. This ticket came with the following: One randomly selected Event Stablemate, access to purchase the Limited Editions during the event, and more.
Those are just the tickets and the ticket prices, according to 2022, however when planning BreyerFest, you do need to factor in the cost of models that you want to purchase (Breyer does release the Special Run and Limited Edition prices before the event), hotel, food, and travel expenses. Here in the group, we have an adjustable estimate helper located in the Files section to help you plan out what you might need. While I do ask that you not reveal how much that you are taking to BreyerFest (safety concerns), I can tell you that depending on what you want to do, it can be well into the thousands. I have personally done BreyerFest on $25 and on $2000 and all sorts of amounts in between.

Where can I stay during BreyerFest and what hotels are recommended? This is a very, very common question during BreyerFest planning and that lead me to create a list of ten recommended hotels in the area as well as the links to them. The Clarion is already booked for 2023 and it is always hard to secure a spot there, however there are other hotels that are close by and even some in Georgetown that are great to stay at, provide a quiet place to rest after a full day of BreyerFest, and more. I highly recommend taking a look at that list. More is added to that list with each year and I hope that people will add their recommendations and experiences to the list as well.

BreyerFest planning is just getting started, so this is definitely a work in progress, as it is each year. Information released from Breyer changes yearly, however there are some things that always remain the same, like the location of the event, the fact that you need to purchase tickets to attend, and that you will be spending a lot of money during the event. The Guides here in this group are designed to help you plan your BreyerFest Adventure and to help explain everything that will happen during the event and I hope that you will take full advantage of them. The Guides are here to answer your questions rather than wait for the admins to approve your posts and then wait for an answer.
It is highly recommended that you join the FB group in order to get the most up to date and accurate information. Here is the link to that group and please remember the answer the questions to be added instantly: Road To BreyerFest

Using this Group and the Guides to the fullest: I know that reading long text walls is not fun and I do try to limit things, however there are some times that I cannot. In order to combat that, there are several places in the group where you can find information without needing to read the long text walls in the Guides.

The Pinned Post in the Featured Section when you first come to the group is a Fast Facts post. This post includes the dates (when they are released), the theme, ticket prices, models released, prices, and links to the Breyer website. This post changes with the theme and does get edited OFTEN to reflect all information and changes that Breyer has released through their BreyerFest Blog. It also includes the direct links to the Guides here in the group, the Album of what models have been released for BreyerFest, the BreyerFest Blog on the Breyer website, and more. It is a great place to check first if you have a question.

The Album of Models Released for BreyerFest is in the Albums here in the group and there will be a link to it in the Pinned Post. This Album will be named BreyerFest 2023: Driving Forward Models and More and will feature each model released from Breyer for BreyerFest 2023, how to obtain them, how much they cost, how many were made, and more. It will also contain screenshots of other important information for the event.

The Guides are divided into several sections, however if you are only planning for BreyerFest, there are two Guides that you will need to read and check on. The BreyerFest for Beginners Guide breaks down all of the information for BreyerFest, gives tips and tricks for surviving BreyerFest, FAQs about BreyerFest, hotel recommendations, food recommendations, and other locations to visit during your time in Lexington, Kentucky. The Let’s Talk BreyerFest Guide directly breaks down and explains all of the information released from Breyer on the BreyerFest Blog. The other Guides are the Rules and Regulations for this group (I know, boring), Learning about the Theme of BreyerFest, Other Model Horse Events, Model Horse Hobby Information, and BreyerFest History. In the BreyerFest History Guide, you will find the prices of the BreyerFest releases from 2017 to current as well as the Guest Horses that have graced the arena during the event starting in 2020.

There will be many more posts coming, however this is just the start. I hope that this has helped you and I hope that you are looking forward to BreyerFest as much as I am!
