Let's Talk BreyerFest...The Artisan's Gallery, That Is!

Let’s Talk BreyerFest...The Artisan’s Gallery, That Is!

First, I feel the need to tell you that the Artisan’s Gallery does not actually take place at the Kentucky Horse Park. It does take place at the Clarion Hotel, which is about five minutes down the road though. Parking can be rough at the Clarion, even with new parking added in, so Breyer typically does have shuttles running from the Kentucky Horse Park to the Clarion and to other local hotels to the Clarion. You can also hitch rides with many other hobbyists to this location.

Ok, now that is out of the way and I can definitely start talking about the Artisan’s Gallery! What is the Artisan’s Gallery? This is a place in the Clarion Hotel during BreyerFest where artists gather to sell their wares. These wares can be custom model horses, resin horses, tack, horse drawn vehicles, flat artwork, and so much more. You will also get to see the finalists for the Best Customs Contest and in person looks at the BreyerFest horses that are released for that event. The Surprise Special Run will not be shown during those sneak peeks.

The Artisan’s Gallery opens up on Thursday before BreyerFest and it gets crowded fast! The hours will be announced in advance and there will be signage when you get there showing the location and times for the Gallery. Once the doors are open, you are allowed to go inside and shop to your heart’s content. It, then, closes on Saturday around 11 PM EDT, but times might vary in 2023.

Artists looking to sell in the Artisan’s Gallery will need to register in advance when Breyer releases the information. There is a fee associated with it and that will be paid upon your acceptance into the Gallery. When Breyer releases the information about the Artisan’s Gallery, it will be shared in this group so that you may decide if this is the right place for you to sell your models.

Also taking place in the Artisan’s Gallery is the announcement of who won the Best Customs Contest. That announcement takes place late on Saturday night. There is no advanced warning that this will be taking place other than a blurb in the BreyerFest program, unless things are changed, which they totally could be.

You do not need to have a BreyerFest Ticket to shop at the Clarion Hotel and the Artisan’s Gallery. You do not even need to be staying at the Clarion Hotel to shop there and to check out the Artisan’s Gallery.

As we look forward to 2023, remember that things can and might change, even the things that have always been. When more information is released, it will definitely be shared, however this is the information that we have as of right now, based on the previous years.

I hope that this helps!
