Let’s Talk BreyerFest...Diorama Contest, That Is!

Let’s Talk BreyerFest….The Diorama Contest, That Is!

Every year, the Diorama Contest is one of the most talked about contests that Breyer puts on during BreyerFest, but what are the rules about it and who can enter? This post hopes to answer those questions and more!
What is the Diorama Contest and what is the theme? Every year, BreyerFest hosts a diorama contest that is open to certain ticket holders. This contest allows you to make a scene reflecting the theme that Breyer states. This contest is open to all ages that will be attending BreyerFest in person. The theme for 2023 is Driving The World Forward. This theme asks that you pick one invention or innovation that has helped drive the world forward as an inspiration.
Who can enter? US Residents (excluding AZ, CO, MD, NE, ND and VT) that have a VIP or All Access Ticket, an email address, and will be attending in person. As I mentioned in the Best Customs Contest post, the exclusions have to deal with the states and not Breyer, so I ask that you please refrain from commenting about that (I desperately wish that it was different.) There are four total age groups to join.
What can I use? Everything has to be Breyer, down to the humans that you use. If it is not Breyer, then you will need to make it. Any scale is allowed, however it must fit inside of a certain dimension. Collecta is not allowed to be used. You cannot use any name brands or trademarks depicted in the diorama. This is the direct answer from the Breyer website: At least one (1) Breyer model (any scale, excluding CollectA) must be used in your diorama entry. If you choose to use a figure, it must be a Breyer figure or a figure created by you. Other non-Breyer props and accessories are acceptable as long as Breyer models (and Breyer figures, if applicable) are used.
What is the dimension? A one foot cube- including bases, stands, and attachments. When entering, you will need to include one photo with a ruler to show the size of the diorama.
How To Enter: Email (or have your parent or legal guardian email, if under age 13) no more than four (4) digital photographs of your Driving the World Forward diorama entry (JPEG or PNG files no more than 2MB each) and the name of the invention or innovation that inspired your entry to dioramas@reevesintl.com. Parent or legal guardian must submit entry if entrant is under age 13. All photo entries must be in JPEG or PNG digital form. (All other formats, including but not limited to PDF, PSD, and BMP format will be rejected). Images must be attached to the email and not sent embedded/inline or via a digital link. Digital photographs must be named as follows:
[YOUR LAST NAME]_BF23Diorama_[IMAGE NUMBER].[.JPG/.PNG.]
(E.g.: Smith_BF23Diorama_1.jpg)
Mail entries will not be accepted.
Your entry must include the subject line “BF2023 Diorama Contest” along with your digital photographs, the name of the invention or innovation that inspired your diorama, title of diorama, short description of the scene, name, age (at the time of entry), mailing address, telephone number, and email address as well as parent/legal guardian’s email address and statement of parental consent if under age 18 (or under the legal age of majority in the entrant’s state of residence in the U.S. – whichever is greater) at time of entry. Parent or legal guardian must submit entry if entrant is under age 13. Entry and/or statement of parental consent must be submitted in English. Entries missing any of the above requirements will be immediately disqualified.
