Free Activities for the In Person BreyerFest

What Can I Do At BreyerFest That Does Not Cost Money?

BreyerFest is full of things that do not actually cost extra and that is always a good thing. When it comes to BreyerFest, many people always think of how much they are going to be spending and that they need to save up. While that is always at the front of your mind, there are always great things to do that cost nothing. So, let's find out what they are!

*Stablemate Painting- This free activity allows you to paint the Stablemates in any color or design that you want. Any age is allowed to paint a Stablemate, so no worries there. This year, there will be two Craft Tent locations to participate in this activity. They are usually located behind the Covered Arena, however we do not know exactly where they will be placed right now.

*Seminars and the Equus Film Festival- Located at the Visitor's Center, this air conditioned activity allows you to cool off and learn more about horses. The seminars usually range from learning about horses, colors, famous horses to learning about collecting models and so much more! A complete schedule of these Seminars will be released MUCH closer to the event. The Equus Film Festival is always great to take in. These short movies star horses and range from fun and delightful to educational.

*Pony Rides- Located in the Celebration Park, which is between the Covered Arena and the Rolex Stadium (I will be marking a map when things are definite, so have no worries!), your child will be totally able to ride a pony. I do believe that there is an age limit and I am not sure if photos are taken other than by the parent, however this is always a fun activity for the littles.

*Petting Zoo- Located in the Celebration Park, this petting zoo features animals of all kinds. Touching is highly encouraged and you might event be able to feed them, for an added fee. Who doesn't love petting animals?!

*Kid's Jumping Competition- Does your child love to run around and act like a horse? Or maybe they just like to jump over things. I know that when I was younger, I would have loved to enter this competition and complete a show jumping course while acting like a horse and my mom could do nothing about it because it was encouraged! There is typically a small prize for the winner, but in July, just being able to do it in the heat and humidity is the prize for me!

*Autographs with Guest Horses- Located at the Barns behind the Covered Arena, there is an amazing little tent that is set up. This tent allows you to meet and have your models signed by the owners of the greatest horses that are gracing the barns there! The BreyerFest Guest Horse Signings are hugely popular and there are several times that this is held during the weekend, so be aware. Each horse will have their time frame and there will be a line, so make sure to keep an eye on the Program when it is released to see what time your favorite horse will be making their appearance to sign your model.

*Equine Demonstrations- All weekend long during BreyerFest, the Covered Arena is home to some of the best equine talents from all over the world. You will learn about different breeds, different colors, different disciplines, and so much more! Definitely make time to take a seat in the Covered Arena (providing that you can find a seat) and watch what is happening. The full schedule will be posted in the Program once it is released MUCH closer to the event.

*The Hobby Center- Want to learn more about the model horse hobby? See how they repair a model, paint a model, customize a model, or so much more in the Hobby Center. Located near the Covered Arena, there will be a number of well respected hobby members showing off what they do best. You can ask them questions or simply watch them work on what they are doing. This is also the location of the Diorama Contest.

*Watching Mountain Top Polka or the Donauschwaben Schuhplattlers perform in the Beer Garden tent- Well, this is new! But this looks fun. Polka music is always fun to listen to and even dance to, if the mood strikes you! While I am not entirely sure that there will be actual beer offered in the Beer Garden tent, it might be a nice, shady place to take a seat and watch some amazing performances and listen to some awesome music. Right now, we do not know where this will be located, however it will be near the Food Vendors.

*Face Painting and other activities- You cannot go to an event of any kind in Kentucky and not expect to have face painting and things of that nature. Cincinnati Circus will be returning to make things fun around the park! These acrobats and other types of performers will be there to show off their skills. There is usually a guy that walks around in stilts and juggling, now that is awesome!

*The Big Dig and Collect-A-Dino- Usually located in the Celebration Park, this activity is great for those littles that are tired of horses! The Big Dig allows them to dig in the dirt with some "large" equipment and make awesome holes. Collect-A-Dino is new this year and it sounds amazing! Maybe they will let me in there because Dinos are awesome.

All of the above is free and is provided by Breyer during BreyerFest at the in person event.
